Depositor compatibility should be verified before ordering production molds. A mold can match an overall footprint and still be incompatible because of registration points, pitch, cavity position, conveyor handling, frame requirements, or machine-specific tolerances.
Compatibility checklist
- Machine manufacturer and exact model
- Mold length, width, and thickness
- Usable depositing area
- Row and column pitch
- Cavity center locations
- Registration holes, pins, rails, frames, or locating features
- Conveyor and transfer clearances
- Required mold stiffness and handling method
Do not rely on brand name alone
Equipment manufacturers can offer multiple machine generations and configurations. Compatibility should be confirmed against the exact line, not only the depositor brand.
Before production
Use a dimensional drawing, verified sample mold, or machine documentation whenever possible. A controlled fit test is safer than assuming compatibility from photographs.
